Belmont continues to live up to its reputation as a Geelong first-home buyer favourite, with a young Geelong couple winning keys to 11 Vivian St on Saturday.
The pair, David and Amy, were all smiles after fending off two other couples to secure the two-bedroom, one bathroom weatherboard house for $570,000.
They plan to move in and get busy renovating.

"We really liked the weatherboard look, it's got a lot of character," David said.
After a quiet start, Maxwell Collins, Geelong agent Shaun Carroll opened proceedings with a vendor bid of $520,000.

He said the property offered fantastic potential in a prized location.
"The scope of this place and undoubted capital growth, it's the perfect place to raise a family," he told the crowd.

From there, three bidders took the price to $565,000 where Mr Carroll declared the property on the market, before David and Amy staked their winning claim.
"Belmont is such an in demand suburb of Geelong," Mr Carroll said.
"We knew that there would be a lot of interest here and that price level is ideal for first-home buyers looking for an entry-level home."

The property was listed with a price guide of $565,000 to $585,000.
