However, the Kansas City Star reports that Pompeo, a graduate of West Point and a potential 2020 Senate candidate in his home state of Kansas, will also be meeting with several important GOP lawmakers from the Palmetto State.
Sources told the paper that Pompeo will sit down with South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster (R) to thank him for his support of Gen. Robert Caslen, a classmate of Pompeo's who is slated to be the next president of the University of South Carolina.
Additionally, state party Chairman Drew McKissick will attend a lunch held in Pompeo's honor following his speech at The Citadel.

Pompeo has repeatedly publicly downplayed his interest in running for Senate, but his multiple trips to Kansas this year have raised eyebrows.
