A man died while hunting in Slater Park north of Hayden Wednesday. The 69-year-old man had a medical emergency and was having trouble breathing. Crews from Routt and Moffat County were dispatched to the scene which was in a remote area north of Hayden, also known as California Park. Hunters who were with the man were the ones who called 911. Routt and Moffat County Search and Rescue teams assisted along with Routt and Moffat County Sheriff's offices, and the Routt County Coroner's Office.

A Craig man is facing seven felony and misdemeanor charges after a domestic violence incident on Labor Day. The Craig Press reports 34-year-old Gregory Warren Koster Is still in the Moffat County Jail. Police confirmed Koster had been arrested at least two other times on charges in Craig, and there were two active restraining orders barring Koster from assaulting, threatening, or abusing the victim. There was also a warrant out for his arrest for failure to appear on an attempted murder charge in Iowa.

A man in West Glenwood Springs was arrested Monday with 100 pounds of methamphetamine in his car. The drugs are worth nearly $1 million. Colorado State Patrol pulled over 33-year-old Edgar Esquivel-Tecalco Monday for some traffic violations. They asked twice if they could search his car, and asked him to sign a form agreeing to the search. He did. Investigators found 62 bricks that tested positive for meth, in the interior door panels of the car.

In sports, the CNCC soccer teams are in Reno, Nevada. They have games this afternoon against Truckee Meadows Community College.

The Moffat County girls volleyball teams are playing in New Castle this afternoon, against Coal Ridge High School. The high school boys soccer team is in Grand Junction to play Palisade.

Craig Middle School has a volleyball game against Meeker at 4 p.m. today in Craig. The middle school cross country team is running in the Steamboat Springs Invitational this afternoon.

Football on Friday, Craig Middle School is away with a 4 p.m. game against Meeker. The Moffat County Bulldogs travel to Steamboat Springs to play the Sailors at Gardner Field. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
