Food exporters will be the next target as the Morrison government pushes on with plans to slash "red tape" stifling Australian businesses.

The government wants to make it easier for sole traders and micro-businesses to take on employees and get major projects off the ground.

A task force overseen by the federal treasurer will target the complexity of regulations, the length of time for project approvals and duplication across different layers of government.
