Last Tuesday, my wife and I attended a special event hosted by Hale Centre Theatre, where the local councils of the Boy Scouts of America expressed thanks to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for 106 years of support. The evening was attended by church leaders, including Elder Ronald A. Rasband of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.
The hall was filled with hundreds of men, women and youth, who had come to express their appreciation. It was truly impressive to see so many who have given thousands of hours of service and thousands of dollars to provide learning experiences for young men, where they could learn values and life lessons that enable them to make moral and ethical choices over the course of their lives.
Though The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will no longer sponsor scouting, scouting will continue in the communities in Utah, to bless the lives of all young men and now young women who want to join.
Thank you to those who have given selflessly for years and years to this program and thank you to those individuals, organizations and businesses that will continue to support scouting in the future.
